Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information BiomedExchange processes through the site and how it is used.

Information we process

We process public business and equipment-listing information from dealer and auctioneer websites, including names, domains, locations, public contact details, equipment facts, source links, and observation dates.

Information you provide depends on the feature you use:

RFQs and wanted requests can include your name, email address, optional phone number, organization, state, budget, timing, notes, and the equipment requested.
Seller submissions can include contact and organization details, equipment information, and media or media links.
Correction, claim, and opt-out requests include the information needed to identify the listing or dealer and verify or follow up on the request.
General, privacy, and copyright contact requests include the request type, name, email address, subject, message, and any related URL you provide.
Accounts use an email address and can store profile information, saved searches, alerts, drafts, listings, and dealer-page relationships created through account features.

The service also processes limited technical information needed to operate and protect forms and links, such as an IP address for rate limiting or click deduplication. Cloudflare Turnstile processes data when its verification widget appears. Supabase provides account authentication and application data storage.

Do not submit patient-identifiable information or other protected health information through BiomedExchange.

How we use information

We use information to:

operate search, accounts, saved items, drafts, listings, and dealer pages;
record and respond to correction, claim, opt-out, RFQ, and seller-intake submissions;
attempt delivery of an RFQ to matched dealers when the requester chooses to share it;
send service messages when email delivery is configured;
prevent abuse, apply rate limits, maintain security, and diagnose service problems; and
maintain listing history and an audit trail for correction, claim, and opt-out decisions.

We do not sell personal information. The site does not currently include third-party advertising or analytics code.

When information is shared

If you choose to share an RFQ, its contact details and request content may be sent to matched dealers that have a usable contact address. Information is also processed by service providers that host or support the site, including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Cloudflare for bot verification where enabled, and an email provider when transactional email is configured.

We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

Cookies

The public catalog can be browsed without an account. Supabase authentication uses cookies to maintain signed-in sessions. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking essential cookies can prevent account features from working.

Retention

Account, form, and request records are kept while they are needed to provide the applicable feature, maintain listing status and audit history, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Users can remove saved searches and alerts through available dashboard controls.

Raw source titles and other temporary crawl inputs are purged after 30 days; a one-way title fingerprint and structured listing facts may remain so the service can recognize and maintain a listing.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect the information processed by the service. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Children

BiomedExchange is intended for adults using business equipment services and is not directed to people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy by posting a revised version and changing the effective date. Changes apply prospectively from the posted effective date.

Available controls

Dealers can use the Attribution & Corrections Policy, claim flow, and listing-removal flow. Signed-in users can manage saved items and other available account features from the dashboard.
